Would you like to eat an "animal drug" for lunch? It's not very appetizing, but it's on the horizon for America's grocery stores, restaurants, and your dinner table. Frankenfish is genetically engineered salmon that grows at twice the normal rate, will probably not be labeled, and may pose risks to salmon farmers and human health.
We only have two more days to speak up about Frankenfish. Testing on GE salmon has been heavily criticized--and for good reason. The FDA relies on data from a company that wants GE salmon approved. And, since GE salmon is classified as an animal drug, human health risks are not prioritized in the studies.
For today's Daily Action, tell the FDA NO to Frankenfish before the April 26th deadline.
